Bonnie Mehner and her husband Bill, along with their daughter Bethany Weiser are avid supporters of the Anchorage community. Having lived here most of their lives and choosing to raise their families in Anchorage, Bonnie, Bill and Bethany find community involvement to be an important part of their daily life.
Bonnie has been a long time supporter of the arts in our community and in years past served on the Arts Advisory Commission. She is currently a member of Soroptimist International of Cook Inlet and serves as a Trustee for the Alaska Pacific University Board of Trustees. She was also co-founder and past president of the Alaska Community Foundation.
Bill currently serves on 5 community boards to include the Board of Trustees for Alaska Regional Hospital; the Board of Directors for The Anchorage Opera; the Board of Trustees for Pacific Northern Academy; and the Board of Directors for the Alaska Center of Performing Arts. Within the real estate community, Bill serves as Past President of the Alaska Chapter of The Council of Residential Specialists; a Board Member of the Anchorage Board of Realtors. Most recently Bill has made a move and accepted a position as the Executive Director of the Heritage Land Bank for the Municipality of Anchorage.
Bethany recently co-chaired the 11th Annual Auction for Pacific Northern Academy; one of the largest grossing independent school auctions in the Pacific Northwest, raising just over $475,000, enabling the school to continue offering low class sizes and enriched programs to the students of Anchorage. She is the former chair of the President's Forum Scholarship Committee of her alma-mater Alaska Pacific University, which gave over $15,000 in scholarships to students annually. She has also served as a Loaned Account Manager for the United Way of Anchorage during the 1996 annual fundraising campaign and assisted in the 2000 fundraising campaign.
